5 Spa Creations You Can Make in 10 Minutes or Less for Under $10

If you read my last post “A Christmas to Remember” I suggested you could create incredible spa gifts for very little money. In this post I’m going to give you some ideas you can wrap and put under any Christmas tree with pride.

Body Oils

Body oils make wonderful gifts for both men and women. The recipe that follows will give about 4 ounces of body oil. You can package your oils as a single gift or add variety by making a selection of two three or four oils per gift.

You will need:

  • 4 oz bottles either screw cap (the least expensive) or pump type Your choice of carrier oil(s)
  • Your choice of essential oil(s)
  • Labels

Just for giggles and grins, let’s say you want to make 12 body oil gifts.

You will need to purchase:

  • 12 – 4 oz bottles
  • 36 ounces of carrier oils (this can be 1 type of carrier oil or a variety. For instance, you might want to purchase 1 16 oz bottle each of sweet almond oil, apricot kernel oil and grape seed oil. Carrier oils usually come in 4 oz, 16 oz or larger size bottles. You can buy just exactly the 36 ounces by buying 9 – 4 ounce bottles, but you will often pay more this way.
  • 120 drops total of essential oils (that’s 10 drops per bottle times 12 bottles = 120 drops total needed for all 12 gifts. When choosing your essential oils keep in mind that there are roughly 560 drops per ounce. If you’re choosing a variety of essential oils for your gifts, you may only need .2 ounce (112 drops) or .3 ounce (168 drops). If your supplier offers essential oils in milliliters, you need to know there are roughly 20 drops of essential oil per milliliter. You can make a single gift(s) with only 1 carrier oil and 1 essential oil or you can be blend two or more carrier oils and two or more essential oils to make your creation unique.
