Stress Relief Strategies

In our hurly burly got to get it done yesterday world, negative stress has become an enormous problem. Along with it often come the headaches, upset stomachs and a variety of stress induced diseases. We want our goddesses to relax and enjoy life regardless of what life throws at them. Below are two easy stress relief recipes and additional tips to help them do just that.

Relaxing Reed Diffuser Recipe

Ingredients:

1/4 cup canola oil

1 tbsp 100 proof vodka

10 to 12 diffuser reeds

½ tsp clary sage essential oil

½ tsp sandalwood essential oil

Instructions:

Fill the bottle about 3/4 full with your essential oil(s), canola oil (sweet almond and jojoba also work well) and vodka. Stir or shake gently, add reeds and you’re almost done.

After the reeds are saturated, turn them over so the dry end is in the bottle. Wash your hands after handling the oil soaked ends of the reeds.

Linen and Room Spray Stress Relief Recipe

Ingredients for the Linen Spray Recipe:

1 cup 100 proof vodka

8 to 12 oz (237 to 355ml) spray bottle (fine mist)

1 1/2 tsp Roman chamomile essential oil

1 1/2 tsp clary sage essential oil

Instructions:

Pour ingredients into spray bottle and shake well.

Note: Avoid spraying your linen mist on furniture, your skin and/or into food or beverages.

Stress Relief Diet

When stress comes knocking, a goddess should sit up and take notice. It’s time to start eating three to five small healthy meals a day. Drink plenty of water. Also, before you eat try and spend a couple of minutes relaxing (15 minutes before and after you eat a heavy meal is ideal). Listening to relaxing music is also helpful in calming jangled nerves. Finally, if you are under a heavy stress load, you may want to consider increasing your dosage of both B and C vitamins.

Stress Relief with Exercise

You don’t need to kill yourself with exercise to relieve stress. A vigorous walk will often do the trick. Swimming and riding a bike are great stress relievers. One thing I like about swimming is it is a focused activity. In other words, when I swim, there’s no room for troubling thoughts to pop up. For exercise such as taking a walk, stressful thoughts can pop up. Therefore, when walking focus on what you see, hear and smell. That gives your brain a reprieve.

Stress Relief with a Spa Day

I’m not going to say much about having a relaxing spa day because I’ve covered that extensively in other posts.  Suffice it to say, an hour or two of luxuriating in a soothing bath, listening to calming music, enjoying the calming scents of candles and all other calming aspects of the spa experience is an excellent anti-stress remedy.

Our goddesses should be so healthy and happy that they have no time for stress, particularly the negative variety.

Now go have fun and relax.
