Room Spray to Create Any Mood You Choose

This post is not going to show you how to make a room spray; you can find a recipe here [1]. The only thing you will be changing is the essential oil blend. What we’re going to talk about today is how you can surround yourself with the right scent to match your desired mood.

With recipe in hand, you are now ready to add the scents. How do you choose which scents to use? I suggest that you start by doing a little experiment. Think back to scents you associate with the mood you wish to achieve. Let’s say you remember the smell of vanilla coming from your mom’s kitchen. How does that memory make you feel? Does it make you feel warm and cozy? Does it bring back other fond memories that impact how you feel? If so, you can make a room spray with that same scent and bring back those same feelings.

Run through the happy times, peaceful times and romantic times. A springtime stroll through a park, a hike in the woods, that time at the beach with the waves crashing at the shoreline can all be associated with scent. Even something simple like a cherry lollipop, cotton candy or chocolate sundae can have an effect on your mood. Identify the scent, associate that scent with your desired mood and then create the room spray you need.

It might take a little experimentation to make it perfect, but it will be well worth your time. I’ve included a few simple blends of essential oils to consider. You’ll notice that I’ve listed several oils in each category. It isn’t necessary to use them all. You may well end up with a room spray with only one essential oil. Then again you may end up with a room spray with four or five oils. Like I said, you’ll need to experiment to get it right for you.

These represent just a few of the options available to you. You can create a cacophony of room spray scents to match any mood you choose. In addition to the scent(s), if you include the right colors and music you’re all set. I’ve included links to other posts discussing music and color.

Now go have fun and relax.
