How to Give Yourself a Facial

Facials are very important to having great skin. They cleanse, rehydrate and rejuvenate the skin. They also bring oxygen and nutrients to feed the skin at the surface and help eliminate toxins. When you give yourself a facial the result will be a clearer complexion with minimized skin blemishes acne, dry skin, and wrinkles.

To give yourself a facial, follow the steps below:

  • Moisten your face with warm water.
  • Gently massage face with a cleansing scrub and rinse
  • The scrub is followed by applying a Clay Mask.
  • After mask dries, rinse face and apply a toner
  • Apply moisturizing cream or lotion

Cleansing

When you cleanse your face do so delicately. Use a circular and upward motion with your fingertips. You may choose to use a gentle facial soap (we don’t recommend using soaps on your face), a commercial cleansing cream, or a cleansing you make yourself. If you need to remove makeup and want to make your own cleanser, use a cleansing scrub made with 1 tablespoon of olive oil to which you add two tablespoons dark brown sugar.

Clay Mask

There are commercial clay masks you can purchase. You can also create your own mask by simply adding 3 tablespoons of yogurt to 3 tablespoons Fullers Earth. Mix well and apply.

Toner

We strongly recommend using a toner you make yourself. It’s super simple to do. Add To 4 ounces of witch hazel 10 drops of Helichrysum or other beneficial essential oil. (Caution: Don’t use Helichrysum oil if you are under 12 years old. Also, test diluted oil on skin prior to using to avoid an allergic reaction.)

Creams & Lotions

There are many commercially made creams and lotions to choose from or you can make your own.

Give yourself a facial at least once a month for best results.

Now go have fun and relax.
