Learn Aromatherapy the Fun Way

Learn Aromatherapy

Some things are difficult to learn and may be no fun at all. However, when you learn aromatherapy, it can be a ton of fun with unimaginable benefits. With the hundreds of essential oils used in aromatherapy each with its own unique chemistry, the task of learning aromatherapy may seem daunting. Fortunately, it doesn’t need to be that way. You just have to realize, that in the field of aromatherapy new discoveries are made every day, so there’s always something new to learn. This can seem overwhelming, but this post is designed to take daunt out of the task and put the fun in.

Why learn aromatherapy

Before we get started on the fun stuff, let’s take a look at why you should learn aromatherapy. The answer is really short. Aromatherapy has enormous benefits that can help keep you, your family and friends healthy. There’s more on that in the “Related articles” at the bottom of this post.

How to learn aromatherapy and have loads of fun doing it

Each of the oils used in aromatherapy has its own unique characteristics and those characteristics can change depending on the quality of the oil, where it is grown. Oils can also change characteristics depending on the growing season and when they were harvested. Happily, that’s not something you need to worry about. Just be sure and choose your essential oils from reliable suppliers that test their oils for purity. (Like the oils we carry from Ancient Healing Oils.)

There’s a simple four step process that will make learning aromatherapy a no stress fun adventure. Here they are:

  • Step 1 – Start to learn aromatherapy with one essential oil. I recommend lavender essential oil to begin your study. This oil isn’t very expensive and can be used a gazillion ways. Once you have that first precious bottle of essential oil in your hands, uncap it and smell it.
  •  Step 2 – Do a little digging to find out the benefits of your chosen essential oil. We have a few listed here at SpaFromScratch and will be expanding the list. There aren’t more because it takes me quite a while to plow through the scientific data. Sorry about that goddesses, but I promise to do better.
  • Step 3 – Make a few simple recipes with your chosen oil or go wild and create all kinds of recipes. You can find recipes online or in a good book. We’re in the process of creating the perfect book just for that purpose. Every recipe in it we have made; so we can tell you first hand how it feels on your skin and all about the scent. We’ll let you know when it will be available for download.

We recommend you bring your kids in on this portion of your learn aromatherapy project. That way you’ll be doubling your benefits. In addition to learning aromatherapy, you will be teaching your kids lessons that will last them a lifetime.

  • Step 4 – Go back to step one and start the process all over again with another essential oil.

Conclusion

Each day as you learn aromatherapy, your level of expertise and experience will grow until one day before you know it, you will know as much or more than anyone else. But that’s not the great part. The great part is when you can learn something that benefits all those you love and care for including yourself.

Now go have fun and relax.
