One mimosa recipe included with this post is from the original recipe which was not termed mimosa; it was called Buck’s Fizz and originated in London in 1921. The name mimosa for this drink originated at the Ritz Hotel in Paris in 1925.

The Ritz added orange liqueur to its recipe and the concentration of orange juice to champagne was 1 to 1 vs. 2 parts orange to 1 part champagne for Buck’s Fizz.
