Why frankincense?
Besides all the benefits listed in my post on frankincense essential oil, it’s renowned for its benefits for all skin types. Perhaps its ability to repair DNA might have something to do with that. Given that along with its ability to calm the mind makes it a winner for our fast paced over-stressed society.
Frankincense Diffuser Recipe
Hosley’s Set of 4 Glass Diffuser Bottles – 4″ High. Premium Heavy Quality. Ideal for Use with Essential Oils, Hosley Replacement Diffusers & Hosley Reed Sticks, Diy, Crafts [1]
Ingredients:
- 1/4 cup Canola Oil, Sweet Almond Oil or Safflower Oil
- 1 tbsp 100 proof Vodka
- 10 to 12 Diffuser Reeds
- 1/4 tsp Lavender Essential Oil
- 1/4 tsp Lemon Essential Oil
- 1/2 tsp Frankincense Essential Oil
Instructions:
Add the essential oil(s), canola oil (sweet almond, jojoba also work well) and vodka to your bottle (for this recipe, a 3 to 4.5 ounce bottle works best). Stir or shake gently, add reeds and you’re almost done.
Now the object is to get the reeds saturated with the oil to improve wicking. To do this, for the first day keep turning the reeds every few hours until they are saturated with oil. On the second day onward, the reeds should be flipped every few days.
Wash your hands after handling the oil soaked ends of the reeds.
Tips:
You can cut the reeds to shorten them if you like.
To make a larger diffuser, double the recipe.
