Two Relaxing Essential Oil Recipes using Ylang Ylang

Every day has its stresses, but some days seem to be awful, often due to an accumulation of little things. You forget to set your alarm clock. You’re going to be late for work. You get to work and find out there’s going to be a layoff and you don’t know if you’re on the list. You get a call while at work, you’re kid has a fever and the school wants you to come pick him up. And on and on your day goes. You need a way to help you cope. That’s where the following two essential oil recipes come in. Quick to make essential oil recipes, particularly those made with ylang ylang are great rescuers you can use anytime.

Relaxing Essential oil recipes:

Diffuser Recipe

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Canola Oil

1 tbsp 100 proof Vodka

10 to 12 Diffuser Reeds

1/2 tsp (2 ½ml or 50 drops) Clary Sage Essential Oil

1/2 tsp (2 ½ml or 50 drops) Ylang Ylang Essential Oil

Instructions:

Fill bottle about 3/4 full with your essential oil(s), canola oil (sweet almond and jojoba also work well) and vodka. Stir or shake gently, add reeds and you’re almost done.

After the reeds are saturated, turn them over so the dry end is in the bottle. Wash your hands after handling the oil soaked ends of the reeds.

Massage Oil Recipe

Ingredients:

1/4 cup Jojoba Oil (cold pressed)

3 drops Clary Sage Essential Oil

3 drops Lemon Essential Oil

3 drops Ylang Ylang Essentail Oil

Instructions:

Place ingredients into an amber or cobalt bottle large enough to hold the oil. Cap the bottle and mix ingredients by gently shaking.

After 24 hours, uncap bottle and give it the sniff test. If the fragrance is too strong for your taste, add 1 to 1.5 tablespoons (15 to 22ml) more carrier oil. Again shake gently.

NOTE: Make your massage oil two or three days before the planned massage.

If you don’t have time to make these relaxing essential oil recipes take the oils, there is a simple way to carry them with you that doesn’t involve buying anything except a baggie. Place a few drops of either of the above essential oil recipes onto a cotton pad or cloth, place in a baggie and poke in your pocket or purse. When stuff happens and you’re at wits end, open up the baggie and take a whiff.

Now go have fun and relax.
